Program Coordinators

My name is Lucy Lamont and I am the 7th and 8th grade Family Consumer Sciences teacher. I am originally from Pennsylvania and am a new teacher to Borman.  One of my main goals for this club is to break the stereotype that women cannot be accomplished citizens in their community.  I believe that the work we are going to accomplish will improve the future of all of the students, the future Borman, and the future of the community.  I want everyone in the club to realize the work we are going to be doing can have a profound effect on a lot of people not just the members of the club. No matter what gender, age, race, or religion we are citizens of this Earth and are going to work to preserve the good and correct the wrong.  I want the students to be proud of what they are doing and where they have come from

My name is Javier Lucero.  I was born in Los Angeles, California and was raised there and in the southern part of New Mexico.  I am also new to the area and a graduate of New Mexico State University.  The purpose I co-founded the Social Awareness Club was to help positively impact the surrounding community along with Borman students.  In doing this, I expect students to not only be model citizens, but to lead others in their own pursuit of social justice in the community and actions beyond.  I believe that all students have the potential to accomplish all of the goals they and others set for them.  This club allows them the opportunity to do this and eventually lead the community in the same manner.  The truth is there are far too many negative happenings in the community.  My vision is that Borman become a local hub for positive and strong social action as well as a school that students take pride in attending due to their involvement in the community.  Feel free to email if you have any questions at all.
